Think they already ha.......ave.
Let's all go to Blackpool...

Thursday, July 29, 2004

Hey Smurf. No need for headin practice when your as good with your feet as me. Any how You look like that guy from the gonnies (no not the ugly one) do the chuffle shuffle. hehe
Footy training tonight is going to be held at Northcroft - not Vicky Park.  Northcroft.

Tell everyone who needs to know.
The fitness element of training this season will only be tough until I'm satisfied that fitness is an advantage for us.  We got to that stage very quickly last season, so hopefully we'll do the same this season.  It's better to do that because then we don't need to waste training time on fitness and can move on to ball work and movement and stuff.  That happened naturally last season with the two-touch indoor training and that worked well, but only because everyone was fit enough by then to not need more running work, plus the two-touch meant that over an hour it was quite a fitness challenge as well.

The key for this season's training will be agility and having quick feet, as I think that these are the keys to actually becoming better players individually.  We play well as a team and will keep getting better the more we play, but individually to be more agile and to have faster feet, that's the aim.  I need to work out some training techniques for this, based on the limited equipment that we have (I'm not buying an "Agility Ladder" for £49.00) but I have a recurring dream about a big flight of stairs and you lot running up them.  A dream that I did not get to realise last season, so this year may be the one...
I bet Genghis Karate chopped him.
Beeny any chance of you getting in any heading practice during training?

Oh and tackling, running, passing, marking whilst your at it.
Tonight won't be too mental, first proper training and this humidity means we'll just blow a few cobwebs away tonight but won't be stupid about it.

Stevie T has broken a rib so has pulled out of Blackpool now too.  Which means I'm back on me todd again for the journey up.  However, it does mean I don't have to break my journey to pick him up in Thatcham now so I may gain half an hour on it.  Nasty roadworks I heard about up Manchester way???
I'm with matt on this one i like the black and white one of all the kits, Maybe The blue one??? Would like to find out what everyone else thinks. Have a great weekend guys see some of you tonight at training. Bloody hot day for making it the first proper training session. dam the hirachy of this football club. but i'm getting back into good shape since giving up the fags. bring on the pain shane...............God did i just say that?
I like the two-tone one at the top left, navy blue with the blue and yellow socks - don't even know what other colour the top fades into - but it's a bit different and looks kinda stylish.  But I like all of them really...
A nice bit of promotional work there! I'll keep that in mind... Although a lesson might come in handy as I think we're going diving on holiday.

Which ones your clear favorite? The Black and White? That's probably my favourite although I quite like the Blue and Black, it's a bit different to what other teams play in.

Oh yes, I just remembered, if you're living in the Newbury area or any of the surrounding towns and villages in Berkshire or Wiltshire and are interested in scuba diving, scuba lessons, snorkelling, PADI certification or just wanting to do a try dive, the people you need to talk to are Dolphin Divers of Newbury.  Their website is http://www.dolphindivers5staridc.com

Dolphin Divers are situated in Park Way, opposite Victoria Park, and provide the safest and most comprehensive scuba diving training courses I've ever seen and they make it good fun at the same time.  Once you're PADI qualified, when you go diving on holiday you'll realise just how well you've been trained when you see other divers thrashing about and generally getting it wrong.

So that's Dolphin Divers, of Newbury, Berkshire, for scuba diving courses, lessons and training, and equipment too.

Just thought I'd mention it while I thought of it.

and finally (the kit on the left, not the blue one with white shorts)... Posted by Hello

What do you think? In my mind there's a clear favourite, but lets have your comments... Posted by Hello
Red and White are the club colours, but I was thinking of maybe getting a new kit that we could use as an away kit - as at the moment if we clashed kits with someone we'd have to use the old Green & White hoops of Controlware - a kit that must be at least 7 years old.

So I figured we'd get an alternative colour kit, keep using the red and white one this season and then switch next season for a couple of seasons.

Grey I'm wary of cos of the whole 'visibility' thing.  Black and white might be okay.  I'll find some and post them up on here so we can have a think about em.

Haven't drunk lager for two weeks, so can't wait to get that first sip of the amber nectar on my lips, followed by the whisky chaser...
Is the 'Red and White ' not our trademark colors?

Black and White/grey sounds ok. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have as little white as possible for cleaning purposes!!

We also need some sort of kit rota, or tick list.... Ok, sounds petty and a bit OTT but the same players end up washing it, and the same players get away with it!!

...and Shane and Mike end up with it about 8 times each a season!!

Stroll on tomorrow, few beers and to get out of this dump...

Wednesday, July 28, 2004

I think we should go for a black and white or a black and grey kit.
Newbury College will be sponsoring us again this year, but it will be the last year of the sponsorship - their budgets do not stretch that far anymore to cover buying us a kit, etc...  Still, we had a good run with them, got a new kit and the training tops, plus a new kit this year.  Any preference of colours anyone?
15th August friendly - away to Dibden Harriers.  Quite a drive (Southampton) but we can make a day of it, lunch by the coast and all that..
Paul Curtis has to look after his kids cos his wife's mother is going into hospital, Neil and Colin are struggling for funds, Beeny's off to France, Frew's not coming (dunno why, was never sure whether he was or wasn't in the first place) so in total there are 11 of us going, so not too bad in the end, I was just grumpy yesterday.  As it's Wednesday today and that means only two days to go, I'm a lot happier.  Knowing that Smurf has nearly £600 to blow means that he might be entertaining me in Sinless for quite a while.  That came out wrong.

Im ready for Blackpool. Withdrew  180 quid from ladbrokes account monday and have just had a £10 each way double up both at 5/1 so winning another £410 so £590 in 2 days not bad going roll on the Ghenginator.

Afternoon all or just shane!  You seem to be about the only person posting on here at the mo.    Im driving up on Friday, Probably leaving bout 10 ish depending on what time we can get matty out of bed!  As far as i know its matty and ilsley going up with me.  Not sure what lewis is doing, last time i spoke to him i think he said he was going up with the ghenginator, But he was asking what time we were leaving so......???   Hope that helps clear up what 3 people are doing.   Whats with the low numbers?   I just read about sillsy but where is everybody else??

As far as I know -

Adam
Chris
Crabbeman
Dave Lewis
Genghis
Matt
Shane
Smurf
Steve T
Tony
Nigel
Okay, from the initial booking of 16 it looks like there's only going to be 11 of us in the end maybe even 10 - hopefully they'll just put the deposits against the final bill so nobody has to lose their deposit (of which I've already paid the lot up front).  We'll have to see.

Is anyone stuck for a lift cos Browny has spare space in his car?  As far as I'm aware everyone's sorted for getting up there, so Steve and I will see you there sometime in the evening.

No fucking about with the rooms this year cos they're right on the point of selling the place so they'll screw us if we damage anything - and he's too large for me.

Looks like Blackpool is gonna be about 4 of us at this rate...

Monday, July 26, 2004

Make sure you have several drinks for me, and a few lap dances! Wont be at training on thursday, but I'll be back to get the fitness back next week...
Cheers Smurf!  Can someone tell me who's going with who in who's car on Friday so I can phone the Gynway with a final number?  Sillsy's had to pull out for family reasons so that's one down, but can you let me know who you're going with and who's driving, that way I can let them know and they can plan what rooms to give us.

Cheers,
Shane sorry cant make training........

EVER!
First official training on Thursday night - for a forewarning of what to expect I was up at 8.30am on Saturday doing a 5k run...
Bad news thenMr Sills.  Sorry to hear that, we shall all have a drink for you in Blackpool.

Saturday, July 24, 2004

Lots to catch up on...

1. The link worked for me!
2. Im now going down (up) with Browny and Nigel, so Ill keep an eye on your speedometer for you Browny.
3. Ill be away for the Partick friendly Im afraid. So justs tap-ins will be scored, then.
4. 'Shane and Stevey Tab, sitting in a tree, ...' Shane, your ass will be sore by the time you get to Blackpool. Because of the long period of sitting down, obviously.
5. Bring on Blackpool, bring on the new season, bring on the Gynway, and bring on having a pitch far closer to the changing rooms!

Fin.

Friday, July 23, 2004

Sunday 22nd August  - Friendly:  Partick (A).  Might be a chance to injure some of em so they don't cream us twice like last season.  Their manager is worried about his squad for next season as he has a lot of people who travel a long way to play and he thinks they might not next season.  Cool.
Northcroft for next season - they're marking out a 3rd pitch which will be ours.  I can only guess that it'll be on the land outside the changing rooms, which means we may not lose as many balls as before...  Cool.

Signing on fee for this season to be kept the same as the last two seasons, so £15.  Can everyone start filling out and bringing back their signing on forms as I'll need to get you all registered.

Cheers.

You know what I ment, 40mph, in a 30, i was well pissed off.

Cool every one going up early on the friday.Pool and darts tournaments in that Tiffanys bar we went last year to start then and it was cheap beer in there.Browny in your earlier comment how did you manage to get flashed doing 30mph in a 40 mph limit?
Shane no stopping in laybys on the way up and joining in any dogging sessions with Stevie Tab
You can be sure of that.

Won't be making it to training tonight, got a meeting which was meant to start at 4pm and hasn't started yet. But I shall definitely be there next week for the official first training.  Plus I may have our first friendly lined up for the Sunday after Blackpool - against the Southampton lot we played earlier in the summer...

Yeah Browny, how's that possible eh?  That's 10mph less than the speed limit, you probably got flashed for dithering.
Ha ha!  Fuck you all.  Me and Stevie T sitting in a Golf...
So, seriously now, no f*cker's going up on Friday afternoon, you've all got the whole day off?  Everybody, except me?  There's usually a few more heading up later in the day...  Anyone?  Stevie T?  Who am I going to play Guess Who with now?  Maybe I'll just speed and get stopped and play it with the copper...

"Do you realise how fast you were going sir?"

"Yes. 108mph"

"Do you have any ID on you at all?"

"Aha..."
Nice - thanks for the pep talk.
Hi all, can't make training tonight, but will do next week. I am driving up early Friday Morning so if anyone wants a lift let me know.

Shane I know whats it like to Drive up on your own, I did it last year. left Reading at 6, after 3 hours of sitting at on the M6 in rush hour traffic and a £60 speeding fine for being flashed by a speed camera doing 30mph, in a 40 mph zone on a dual carriage way, 3 points and a big fuck you. I got there at around 12.30. Saw smurf completley out of his tree and Steve and Nigel gyrating with some birds, whilst I was completley sober. So  I highly recommend it!!!!

Dave Lewis collects his Manager's Player award while Genghis counts up how many awards have passed him by since he started playing footy... Posted by Hello
That link don't work.  And I mean "My goal has to win, my goal has to win, my goal has to win, my goal has to win, my goal has to win, my goal has to win..."

Looks like it's just me on me lonesome then all the way up north, with constant txt messages saying "I'm already here" and "I'm on my 4th pint already" and "where are you?  we're all here already..." and so on.  Bastards.  Will be leaving Southampton at about 1pm, so will expect to get to Blackpool sometime around 10pm...

Anyone seen the Saddam Rock Paper Scissors thing?  Funny as...

Bring it on Blackpool.  Oh yeah, coupla things - Blackpool is one of the areas highlighted for the 'Anti-social Behaviour Charter' meaning the police have the power to split up groups of people and slap on-the-spot fines on you in the street (don't think these are like parking fines where they physically stick them to you).  The other thing is that Janet from the Gynway says she doesn't want any damage to the hotel this year as they're in the middle of selling it - so as we're all a year older and wiser, except John Sills, let's try and be a little more mature while we're in the B&B, cos we'll be too pissed to care later...

I think im going up in the Ghenginator's car, and what do you mean, 'extensive lobbying campaign...'/!

Check out...

http://www.80smusiclyrics.com/

and go to the games bit...
Had a call from the Gynway today just confirming that we're all booked in, so bring your tenners tomorrow (those who haven't already) for your deposit.  What time is everyone going up there?  Am I going to be left driving up alone on the Friday pm?
I love flabber - it's one of the best sites around - though I did see the beheading video on there when it was first on the net and it was pretty disturbing stuff...

John Sills 'wins' goal of the year thanks to an intensive lobbying campaign and accepts his award graciously, while Genghis prepares to kill... Posted by Hello
I'm out all day today, but I hope the weather is like this for Thursday, could just do with it being really hot again for training.  My buttocks were still tight on Sunday, but that's what you get when you've got Beeny in your squad...

Monday, July 19, 2004

Good job, bet the Gynway will ber delighted if people search to see what the B+B is like, and get a link to us saying how we broke the door...

Craig isnt coming, has his cousins wedding or something like that. Right, im off to Birmingham, see you all thursday...
Snigger - type in "Gynway" in Google and look what comes top of the search findings...
Right, this is the list of people I'm assuming are going to Blackpool - if you know of anyone on here who is not going, let me know - if you know of anyone who is going who is not on here, let me know.

Adam
Beeny
Chris B
Colin
Crabbeman
Dave L
Genghis
Dave F
John S
Matt
Neil
Paul
Shane
Smurf
Steve T
Tony

That makes 16 of us - I've assumed Craig isn't coming, but only cos I haven't heard that he is - he's obviously more than welcome if he's gonna be signing on for next season.  I'm just about to send £160 off to The Gynway for the deposit, so I'll need that money as soon as you can get it to me.

Definitely 30th July.
Shane dont mean to sound thick but it is 30th july for Blackpool aint it? Dont want to have booked the wrong day off.
Any news of any possible friendlies?

Hilly accepts his Players' Player award while everyone else poses for the camera... (does it look like I don't want to let go of the trophy?) Posted by Hello
Good knowledge from Mr Sills there.  Right I'm sending off the deposit for Blackpool today - so does anyone know of anyone who's definitely NOT coming?

Excellent... Posted by Hello

just testing something out - here's a fish Posted by Hello
CHAMPMAN CHAMPMAN CHAMPMAN CHAMPMAN CHAMPMAN CHAMPMAN CHAMPMAN get fookin in there....
I love watching guys who think they're good come up against Colin, you can see them get so tempted by the fact that it should be really easy to take the ball around him, then watch them get more and more frustrated as it just doesn't happen...
Shane we Dicked all over for the rest of the night, They only managed one goal right at the end, think neil and that one guy had a couple of comings together but thats football. OLA who? don't look like they could manage playing against us at full strength. training just gets better and better looks like our edge is coming back, colin looking sharper too. good to see brownie as well. Looking forward to getting stuck into training nothing to strenuious, enough to keep fit. (hopefully).
Nice training last night - played against a bunch of the OLA lads (with one of them on our side) and pissed all over them for at least half an hour.  Dunno what happened after I left, but as I was only in goal I would have thought it wouldn't have changed much.  Same old story, they could keep the ball for longer than us but couldn't really manage much in the way of shots on goal.

Don't forget Thursday 29th is first proper training session...

Thursday, July 15, 2004

But the other nine were ok cos they were found having a great time the local brothel scoring of another sort, just like matts doctor scored with matt.
Rangers are lost cause

Queens Park Rangers may have difficulty finding the back of the net next season, if their current tour of Scotland is anything to go by.

Where have they gone now?

Boss Ian Holloway decided to put his newly-promoted Championship squad through their paces with a spot of map and compass work.

But he wasn't prepared for what happened next.

Holloway, never short of a word, explained: "I took them orienteering - and two of them got lost!

"We had to go out in a van to get them. I can't tell you who you they are because they are a little embarrassed."

Matt and his prossie, something your not telling us mate, shame your back prossie is a bloke. guess he is hitting the right spot. just thought about not a pretty site. I'm Training tonight shane, Just asked hilly if he is training gave some poor excuse about "Me Simon hill Player of the year train" "hmph you must be joking, I'm in the best fitness i've ever been in", Fatter than last year then!!. Who Else is going.
Yesterday went well - think they liked what we showed them, certainly seems like a good match (no pun intended) so we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully find out before the end of the week which is excellent - everyone in the agency's been asking how we got on this morning. See you all at training tonight - except Matt who's going to see some prossie about his back...
Matt good luck at the doc's hope you get some good news. John you training tonight.

Wednesday, July 14, 2004

'Ive got this specialist tonight'....£50 on the corner?

How was the Champman thingy then Shaner? We're all waiting with baited breath...

Played our 6 a side last noight without Crabbeman or Lewis. Won two nil. Easy.
Afternoon Mr Beanie, backs not great. I got this specialist geezer again tonight, so I'm hoping he'll be able to tell me a bit more. It's better than this time last week, so hopefully he's doing me some good. I can't afford to go every week!!
Good afternoon Mr. atkins, How's the back? Any news on recovery time's
It's not huge, more prestigious, the sort of thing that people like to work on, like to be seen to be working on, so it's good all round for an agency. If there's a footy management game you want to work on, it has to be ChampMan, above everything else by quite a while. They want to get working on it fairly soon too so we should know quite quickly whether we've won it or not. We're up against 2 other agencies and we know them quite well - we don't believe they're capable of the sort of thing we're pitching, so fingers crossed...
So if you win it I guess there be a few beers consumed at your end!! That must be a fairly big contract.
If we win it, it's a distinct possibility of free games and exclusive demos...
Good luck to you mr. bellamy, any chance of free games??
Wish me luck lads, got the ChampMan 5 pitch this afternoon...

Tuesday, July 13, 2004

Mr. sills I already know about the £20. Hilly was so delighted he was jumping around work all day yesterday. singing "johnny has paid me johnny has paid me la lal al la dop e day la la". Ah Shane,Humour, very good. Didn't realise it myself I'm not that clever (joke here.....................)

Monday, July 12, 2004

I cant believe noone mentioned that I paid that £20 to Hilly! I thought Beeny would want to know that...!
No, no catastrophies, couldn't afford them, so just went for normal trophies again. Maybe next year...
Hilly and Smurf where never gonna win clever boys of the year, that's why shefford employ them. Berkshire born Berkshire bread, strong in the arm and thick in the ed. Fair play to hilly and sillsy, s9 dwl was always gonna win golden boot. Bit upset There was no catastrophies, I thought thats what made a shefford night out. Oh well.
Good night Mikey.

I think the thing with Neil is that he just wants to enjoy his footy, like we all do, but because he wasn't really around with us much last season, has now got himself 50:50 between two bunches of mates who both have footy teams. He just wants to play with his mates, so he's got two options, and each time he goes out with one of the groups of mates he has a good time and can therefore see himself playing happily with them next season. So on Saturday night he had a good time and therefore genuinely wanted to play for us next year. But the next night if he went out with the Banks boys and had a good night I expect he would be swinging back again. The Banks boys are an alright bunch of lads so it's fair enough - not like when Sebbie went to Cold Ash, the muppet.

It would be great to have Neil back, he's already showing at training that missing most of last season hasn't affected his ability in the slightest - so to have him in the squad is a major asset to the club. That said, if he's not happy with us then there's no point forcing someone to play for you, it just drags the whole team morale down.

So to summarise, I really want him to stay, but I'm not going to get pissy with anyone who wants to leave if they're not enjoying themselves. We'll just have to wait and see what decision Neil makes and accept that his decision is completely up to him to make, on his own.

In terms of the rest of the squad, I was dead chuffed with the turn out and atmosphere on Saturday night, even for Dave Frew making it all the way over with the delectable Hannah and not drinking either but still coming across for a while to be a part of it. With Craig coming along as well, Colin back, Newy signing and John Lamb desperate not to be torn away, it should be a good solid season ahead of us. As for promotion, you just never know what other teams will do, but we know we're good enough to match most teams these days - except Partick for some reason.

I'm finished now.
Jesus i felt rough sunday good night had by all,I think
Hilly won Players Player and Supporters Player
Lewis won Managers Player and Top Scorer
Sills won Most Improved and Goal Of The Season
Smurf won Man Of The Match
Genghis won Clubman
I got an engraved pewter tankard with "Shefford FC Manager" on it
Frew ate Hilly's meal and lived to tell the tale
Hilly spilt beer on Julie and lived to tell the tale
We ended up slightly up on the bill once everyone had paid
Most people went to Liquid and nobody got thrown out or offered jobs
I escaped without too much of a hangover
Smurf and Hilly sat for 30 minutes on the quiz machine at the Canal Bar and finally worked out how to put the money in
Browny bought a massive round in the Bricklayers

Anything else anyone?
Hope You All had a good saturday? Who won what and congratulations to those who did win something, anything interesting happen??

Friday, July 09, 2004

Got the trophies, ooh exciting.
Gynway is a done deal - bring your tenners on Saturday/next Thursday if you want a place, first come first served it's the only fair way...
Oi Beeny im a changed man!
Whats this about young girls then?I might have to come training and show them all a real man.
Im meeting Crabbeman and whoever is with him at 4 in town so watch out for flying popadoms in Nawab.
God Must have done some running last night as muscles feel a little tight, Eh? 14 year olds they must have been all of 15 nearly the right age just not enough vocabulary for me, i'm used to ladies, one's with good tongue and soft voice, statements, "Never in a fu****g Blue moon Beeny" "ah Beeny you must bee fu*****g Joking not even with yours" Training is getting better and we are all looking a little sharper. Bring on the new season. have a good saturday night lads speak to you all monday. some one tell me where smurf ends up sleeping, throwing up, getting into a fight, whatever he does.
Good to see increasing numbers at training last night, and Lewis had his shooting eyes in again which was great to see, especially when he didn't shoot and about 9 people (including some innocent passers by) turned and cowered anyway like a bomb had gone off. Nice move.

Also nice to see me do one nice move at the start of training and then feel my thighs literally turn to jelly at one point while I was chasing Neil.

And finally, nice to be shouted at by 14 year old girls throughout the evening. Beeny you spanner!

Thursday, July 08, 2004

Ah Mr. sills i forgot you owe hilly £20, a tenner of that is mine, ah the shear delight of QPR'S Promotion, how did your boys get on sillsy??????
Who was that who said they were out early?
Im going to make it all through the night this time and behave myself in the process.
Is Colin coming saturday if so you better warn the Nawab so they can get a fresh order in.
Matt im so looking forward to giving you dead arms and legs not done it for ages.
So is it ok for you to pick me up tonight Shaner? If your not sure, give me a text about 6:30 to let me know either way...
Yeah, it will be good to see everyone again, it seems like years since I last saw people like Tony and Hilly. Actually, I still owe Hilly £20 from that bet...reckon he will take a Bankers Draft?
Because you influenced what he was going to say. The same applies for Browny if I remember rightly from that time in Jongleurs, he was fooked and had to go home!!

Quite looking forward to Sat, should be a good night.
Might just be my computer, but how come my message appears before shanes message, about me being picked up etc....?
btw, can we all stop mentioning times that we'll be in Newbury and just say that we'll be in the Nawab at 6pm - if Smurf gets wind of people out early then he won't make it to/through the meal...
what time does the train get in? I can probably pick you up on my way...

Blogger explosion today eh?
Train gets in at 18:43pm...

Blogger explosion indeed, its distracting me from my work anyway...
Nigel is meant to be working until 7, he might be coming up with Cat dfor after the meal. Dave is getting up about 4, me and Craig will probably be around that time as well.

Think I will come to training, I can get the 18.18pm train. How do I get from the station to Vicky Park?
Hey all, Good to see you back MR Sills, i trust you and Cat had a good holiday. Looking forward to mine.
Im not gona be at training this week, but I will be there next week.
I need to get back in to it, been training alot down the Gym so fitness isnt to bad, Nigel is defiantely coming, although Im not sure what time he finishes work, I will ask crabbeman. I assume he is coming the same time as Dave.
Im gona be in Newbury from about 12 or 1 so if you need a lift John, but going up quite early.

Been a very long summer...cant ait to get going again.

Fact of the day: John Lamb's postcode ends in ODB, which, as those of you in touch with youth culture will know, stands for 'Old Dirty Bastard'...
Yeah lamby and Meggie (?) are coming on Saturday and staying at ours.

As for training tonight, no idea who else will be there other than Beenie, Neil, Me, Mike, Andy Newport and Colin. Other than that I dunno who is and who isn't other than what you just told me. Been a long summer eh?
Craig is the bloke that started coming last year, everything is sorted out now, and he has just started a new job at Halifax with Crabbeman etc. , and just passed his driving test so all is good for him. He is a good bloke, he has that Shefford x-factor which is required to fit into the squad...!

Ive been able to drive since I was 17, but wasnt really much need for it at Uni, I barely left my bedroom let alone the immediate area, but now Cat has graduated as well thought we should get a Car, and her parents are selling us their car (x reg, 28000 on the clock) in a cut price deal.

Johnny Lamb is coming with Megan on sat, staying at Shanes I think. His job is going well, as is his arson addiction.
I didn't know you could drive John.

Is Craig your new best friend or summit? Is he the bloke that started coming training last season, but left for family reasons? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Anyone heard how Jonny L is getting on in Taunton? And if he's coming on Saturday?

It was in the news today, that one kid set another kid on fire in Taunton! Nice move. "You should have stayed with Shefford"
How many are we expecting at training tonight then? Dave isnt going, he has a date, Craig isnt coming, he has to work late, Frew isnt coming as he wont be back form work in time to get the train, Nigel will be masterbating, and if Browny isd going then he will be late arriving...(both me and Craig are getting new cars over the weekend though, so the reading lot will be back in force from next week).

So that leaves me...Im still off work until next week so can easily make it up and back to training, all on my lonesome...so if there are gonna be a good few going I'll come, but if there will only be about 4 then I'll reconsider....

Somebody, please, make a decision for me...
I Knew there was something i had to call shane about. Not able to make it saturday shane, but i'm training tonight, thanks for the welcome back. good to see the team still exsist, thought it was made up of about six players as training goes.
Oxford vs Reading? Thats nothing, you should have been watching Salzburg vs Tablisi in the Alpen cup the other day! It was fu*king awful, like watching Post Office Reserves play, and the pitch was crap too. And as for the violence, well, apparantly, the Tiblisi fan thought the Salzburg fan said something about his Mum, which created a rather nasty incident involving a stick, a goat, and Frew's Mum.

Good to see you back on here Beeny, beginning to think you were dead! I take it your coming on Saturday?
Hi all.need to catch up whats been going on latley
Reading V's Oxford. More than likely to be messy, we had them in the cup last year, they segregated the fans in the seats, but forgot to segregate them in the concourse!! Naturally loads of scraps, a bloke getting treated near us was in a right mess!!

Luckily Lewis managed to stay in his seat.

Sills - Your such an influence on me, I'm going to get the Eidos version of Champ Man as well.
Training tonight yes, even I'm going to try to be there, making it 2 weeks in a row...
Oxford v Reading in the Carling Cup. That could be messy.
When you put it like that the Eidos one does sound better, I was getting a bit fed up with Champ Man, taking about an hours to play one match etc.

Training Tonight?
Yes I mean the Eidos one (the real one) - they and SI Games had different ideas about where the game should go next - SI Games wanted to go into even more detail and target the hardcore player who sits up til 5am every night playing and waiting for all the info to process (which will be painfully slow), whereas Eidos wanted to make the game more playable, less time demanding and more true to life with qualification rules etc. So Championship Manager 5 will naturally be the better game for your run of the mill footy fan. Football Manager 5 will be for students wanting to avoid exams, or people you don't like getting stuck with at parties.

Newbury College I believe are going to be our sponsors again, I might tap them up for an away kit this season, but there is a new contact there so I'm hoping she's fit. I mean I'm hoping she's still keen on sponsoring us. More to come on that.

I've been told by the Nawab that we need to be there at 6pm sharp, so please try your hardest to get there either before then or then on the dot so as to avoid complications! I will try to remember to pick up the trophies tomorrow lunchtime!

Oh and Shane, when you say Champ Man 5, do you mean the new Eidos one, which is going to be really different game play, or Sports Interactives Football Manager 2005, the same game as Champ Man 4 but different name...? And are Newbury Collage gonna be our sponsers?
Morning Ladies!

How have we all been then? I'm impressed with everything that has gone on in the week I've been sunning my ass. Presentation evening sorted, Blackpool looking promising...I would also like to refer everyone to my post on the 29th June 2004, where I stated that we should go to the Nawab. My influence is growing...Watch out Matt, your place is first to go...

Can't wait to get back to playing football, like Smurf I'm absolutely gagging for it (insert sex reference joke here...). I got desperate on Hols, so took a round-ish rock from the beach and kicked it around the hotel for a bit. I was great. The Walls weren't...

Nigel is def coming on Sat, as is Cat, but both are 90% to be working late so probably wont be joining us until after the meal, so 25 should be spot on.

Are we training tomorrow night? Oh, and Matt, I hope your back gets better, honestly. You make me look good.
Can't see that link unless you're registered mate.

Hope the back specialist guy can sort it out. The guy I saw down here certainly helped mine, but mine wasn't as bad as yours. Be a crying shame if it starts to rule you out though, so better to get it sorted and miss pre-season training than to try and struggle through and prolong the pain.

Just been discussing ideas for the ChampMan 5 pitch next week. Be so cool if we get that piece of business.
New Reading kit is out today... We've gone all Real Madrid with our away kit. It'd be perfect costume for a panto...

I won't be in as early as 4pm mate, I've got loads of stuff I need to do on Sat, probably go into town for a pint before the Curry, but not a skin full.

Text me on Saturday and I'll let you know what we're doing.

I'm seeing a back specialist tonight so hopefully I'll find out what's going on and how it can be fixed, but it's looking very unlikely I'll make the start of pre-season training.
Atkins what time are you lot out saturday and what time are the Reading scum getting to town.
Any friendlies planned yet im chomping at the bit
dunno what time we're doing what yet mate as it depends what I'm doing diving-wise that morning. will know more on Friday so I'll txt you then - cheers for the offer, might come in handy...
Shane what time you thinking of going in to town saturday as my old dear is giving me a lift in so if you dont want to leave your car anywhere you are more than welcome,i was thinking about 4.
How many trophies have i won this year then?
Is he definitely coming?

Shane, the only person missin i can see is nigel.
Yeah - that sure is a hanging offence.

At 9pm on Saturday we're tell Smurf he's staring in the Shefford Musical, then we're get kicked out before we have to pay.
Um, I think not. A play is bad enough on its own but a musical??? That's just embarassing.
And I bet you going!!
Oh my god...

Someone tell me if they know of anybody doing anything different than this list for Saturday...

That it? Have I forgotten anyone? Anyone bringing a guest that I haven't got? Anyone not bringing someone who I have put down?

I just realised I counted wrong and there's 27 people there, not 25. Bugger, but shouldn't be a problem...

Still in Shefford mate yes, quite happy to share a cab back, but probably won't be going clubbing so we'll have to see how the night progresses... If you're out earlier than 6pm you won't make it past 8pm so you might have to wait by the taxi rank for us.
Anybody out early on saturday?
Shane have you moved from shefford yet as im staying at mums saturday and was thinking ahead for taxi sharing
Right, called the Gynway, sounding good for availability, but the people we know from there are selling it at the weekend, so I need to call back next week and talk to the new people. Bloody hell.
You're evil. Evil I tells ya. Right, got the trophies now too, pick them up all engraved (except Supporters' Player cos I'm still waiting for votes) on Friday, so that should all be fine and dandy.

So thoughts turn to Blackpool. Spoke to Newquay tourist info yesterday and they said we have no chance, and they'd even investigated splitting us all up and having us in different accommodation but even that wasn't possible. So I shall call the Gynway this afternoon and see whether they have rooms free. We'll have to have a think about next year, as it appeared that the only option remaining for us in Newquay was in tents...

No way am I staying in a tent.
Cool - 25 people must take up most of the upstairs in there anyway. Wouldn't imagine it'll be that busy.

Or, make another booking for 25 and when they don't turn up it'll be just us.

Yahoo lets go mental chicken oriental.
Any news on the weekend front?
Nawab booked for 6pm on Saturday. Table for 25...

Halfway is out as Steve & Kirsten are on holiday so they're understaffed. Curry House in Newbury it is...
Browny how can you say the RAT sorry meant the RAJ was good it was shite the food took ages and we couldnt get a drink and some prick was playing frisbees with popadoms
All my pitty is with Mike. Must have put him off his food.
Okay, checking out the Halfway option, also making one final attempt at Newquay accommodation - though the Tourist Info people said that they don't even bother trying to help people find accomm for less than a week over the summer as nobody takes people for short breaks, so Blackpool looking forever more likely. That means I have to contact the Gynway, the place we trashed last time, and try to get us back in there. Great.

Matt you're not coming to Blackpool unless your back's better. Still need your dad's votes btw
Morning all, sorry I have been mega busy over the past few days.
The restaurant we went to last year was called the RAJ, it was good but didnt like the table arrangement as I had to look at mike for the whole time, and me and the Mrs had our back to everyone.

Not fussed either way with blackpool or Newquay, same goes for crabeman. Either way its the same time to drive, pretty much same distance. just probably colder.

Blackpool seems like tradition, so if we can't, im sure Cody will make us all feel welcome.

Trying my dam hardest to make training next week, as hours are getting longer.

I don't really know the lay out of any Curry Houses except The Nawab and that place in Reading. If we went early like your planning, then it shouldn't get that busy up stairs in the Nawab where we were before, they might let us have that.

The half way is a great idea, especially if it has a section we can use away from everyone else... And we'd be giving Mr Cross a few quid in return for the prefect host that's he's been all season. I very much doubt/hope anyone will care about a few quid in a taxi.... Ok, Sills might have to write a cheque.

Going early is a good idea too, regardless where we go! More so if it's in Newbury, otherwise everyone goes there separate ways after the meal which is no fun. That is a major bad point with Newbury there's no late night pubs like there is in Reading.

- One major factor is having it someone where everyone one will go. Shouldn't be a problem as pretty much everyone made it to Reading last year.

I won't be training for a while, my back is still playing up from last season, even after resting it for 2 months. I'm seeing a specialist next week so I'm hoping he'll have some idea on how to fix it.
