Well I can't do you a match report but I can tell you a little bit about Turnpike. They've hardly played for the last 2 months, literally 3 games - won 2 lost 1. The one they lost was 3-2 against Kennet, who we beat 2-1 (a strangely comfortable 2-1) at the beginning of the season. So to me that says we're in for a hard game but one that we have as good a chance of winning as they do, it'll be down to how both teams play on the day.

I did consider going to watch Meadway v Q Associates this morning but figured a) it's one of the most awkward pitches to get to and b) it was probably gonna be rained off anyway and c) Meadway are so bad that it would be hard to tell much about Q Associates.

So I had a lie in and then went for a walk in Savernake Forest. Savernake Forest is shit. It's just trees. I know that sounds obvious but I was hoping for more, like wildlife and stuff. But no, just some trees, and a fair few of them were dead. Some of them are named, like Saddle Oak and Saddle Oak 2, so obviously named by a naturally creative person.

Interestingly, Savernake Forest was where Michael Ryan (Hungerford shootings) claimed his first victim, before driving back along the A4, trying to shoot the cashier at the petrol station (but didn't cos his gun jammed) and then on into Hungerford where it all went bad. At one point, he got in his car but it wouldn't start so his spree was limited to the area around his house. No one knows where he was heading when he got into his car.

So no match report, but some useful information for you - don't bother going for a walk around Savernake Forest.

And Lewis sealed the points with a quality strike midway through the second half...
