As long as it's in the sell-by date I'm quite happy with it. Though it's better on draft than in the bottle anyway.

Had to.

But anyway... Gut reaction is that it's just not that big a story. He was an excellent player, but he's getting older and he can't cut it at the top level anymore.

Sympathy is non-existant though as his options are not so bad when he accepts that he's hit that stage:-

Stay at top club and play less and less, collect fewer thousands of Euros per week than previously, but don't worry too much about going out boozing.

Move to lower level club and be a temporary hero but also someone that people moan about behind your back for not being as good as you used to be, collect as many thousands of Euros/Pounds as your agent has been able to squeeze out of Bolton or Porsmouth.

Punditry.

Management.

(I pity the poor club that Beckham tries to manage, and I pity the poor channel that tries to get Beckham to analyse games at halftime.)

Move to US league. Collect many many dollars. Walk on part in top US drama. Walk on part in film. Speaking part in film. Suicide in LA hotel room.

Bolton suddenly doesn't sound so bad eh?
