The problem, Mr Sills, is not what has happened, but what should have happened. We were better than Portugal, we had the best team in that tournament and should have won that game - even with the refereeing decision and the injury, we should have won, fact.

Another fact, we had the most attack-minded midfield in that competition and in that game and Sven told the whole squad to play defensively - meaning Portugal had the freedom to come forwards and put pressure on a midfield that don't know how to defend - meaning they scored goals. If we'd attacked them and played our game, we'd have scored or at least stopped them coming forward and we'd have won the match.

You can hide behind your stats all you like. Cos you've got no silverware to put in the way instead.
