Morning all!
Its Cat's birthday today, so Im not allowed to mention football all day...shocking.
Ive invited Adam on, so hopefully we will have another person to contribute to jokes about Browny now...
By the way Matt, you only scored on Sunday because I decided to move out of the way, Im letting you get a head start...

I've got a new killer exercise to do as well, bit like the back to back thing but for the stomach. Won't kill your knees either so I expect people to be up for longer! Might have a tournament! Winner gets to miss out on the murder run. Cool! First match at Fortress Northcroft on Sunday. Must get some more balls and a net on Saturday...
Glad you said that... I prefer doing other things rather than just a match, didn't want to say anything cause I know most prefer just a match... then they might pick on me and beat me up.
Yesterday certainly should improve a lot of peoples match fitness... Trouble is it's left my hamstrings as tight as browny....
....but I don't want to do too many stretches or there end up as loose as his missus...!
(sorry Christopher!)

Yeah, plus just doing footy at training gets dull and produces poor performances, so I think I'll start mixing things up again at training. This Thursday we'll be at a new venue, possibly Henwick or maybe Stroud Green (back to the old skool) (s'where Controlware used to train). Lots of space, not many other people there, but not the best surface you'll find. Liked that Cold Ash surface though, just a shame it's their home pitch and not someone else's. Didn't seem that fitness was a problem on Sunday though, but you did cover a fair bit of ground during the 90. You went from our 18 yard box to the halfway line and back so many times I reckon a murder run would be a walk in the park. Gentle exercise on Thursday night, we'll do some agility stuff rather than stamina stuff. As we reacted a little slower sometimes on Sunday, so we can start looking a bit sharper. Okay, so you can start looking a bit sharper, I have a cold.
Ok Paul, I'll ease up on the 'getting old' jokes providing you withdraw your statement to the police....
Otherwise I'll have all day to think up 'little digs' and place them on here !! I'm sure they get computer in there cells these days.
I can hardly move I'm aching so much!! I think I ('we' otherwise your deliberately make me do it alone!) need a few more murder runs to get the old fitness up to scratch.... I'm sure your all with me on that one... Hmm?

Sorry Paul, turns out that when I filled up that billy can I put in diesel. Takes bloody hours to light. Next time I'll do a proper job and then, with your guidance, we'll burn the world!
Ahem.
I thought we were excellent yesterday. We didn't show them any respect, we didn't sit back and let them play their game, they had to work for it. And they play some good stuff too - but we kept them down to single figures chance-wise and never once did they overwhelm us at the back, the midfield worked bloody hard to protect the back four. A lot of the game was played in our half, but to only concede 4 in those circumstances is an achievement, and to get 2 is more of an achievement. Soft goals a little annoying, especially the two headers where we had no one jumping, even more especially as we had plenty of men back for both to be able to cope, but first game of the season against the favourites for the league, I think we showed a lot of character in that second half - and best of all, I can only remember one Shefford player having a go at one other Shefford player and within seconds he'd apologised for it. We really stuck together, kept our heads up and showed that the team spirit we had last season wasn't just cos we kept winning.
From our side of the game, obviously chances to play our footy were few and far between, and were mostly limited to trying to hit the right long ball over for Dave or Neil to run on to. There was a big gap between the midfield and the front two but that was necessary and inevitable. If the midfield had pushed up too far we'd have been punished for it and if both Dave and Neil had tracked back together we'd never have scored and would have just invited them on. We'll have to look for other games to show how we play our footy.
I think we can take a lot of confidence from that into our next few games. Next Sunday is a cup game, so my current thinking is that I'm intending to play with the midfield a little to see how things go. If anyone has any mates who want to come along to training, now is a good time cos we had the bare seven subs on Sunday and I don't like being confined to my squad selection like that.

....tut, I told them to go for ya house, not your work address!!
Ha ha... I thought it was funny that Paul's been up all night... I had a nice kip....
I do agree with you thou mate, we did put in a fairly good performance, maybe if we'd settled down a bit quicker those two soft goals that were by fault may not have gone in.... No point dwelling on it thou, there's plenty of positive points to take out the game. The running and determination we put in yesterday will be enough to beat some teams in this league alone, and thats without my sher class, skill and wonder goals... oh and pace..... and heading ability....
Bring on next week...
Browny's so stupid........................

I took a Viagra last week, got stuck in my throat. Havent been able to turn my head since.
Whats all ths slagging HSBC off malarky? We are The Worlds Local Bank, as well as The Worlds Best Bank, and The Bank Which Employes The Sexiest Blokes. All official titles. Honest.
Really looking forward to Sunday now, I don't think we have anything to be afraid of, we know we are a really good side and a fit side, and we werent outplayed (or beaten?) by the higher teams we played last year. Lets get them.
Shane, now you have invited Dave on here, does that mean we have to stop slagging him off?
