I'll defer to the manager and let Smurfy decide that the answer to that will be no.

But don't feel bad, with Browny notching on the last day of the season I think he lifted his goals per game ratio above mine, all but sinking my chances of the award this year too.

So we're in the same boat, it's just not a very nice boat and has no rudder.

You anchor.

Am I in with a shout for Manager's player this year? I've done some cracking blogging...

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

Yeah I guess a Friday night could cause a few problems with peoples work etc. That said, if we book a restaurant for 7.30pm/8pm that should give people plenty of time. Obviously I'm just trying to justify a day i can make it!

I think Reading is a good idea though, change of scenery (cleavage and arse), and better places to have a beer afterwards.

Sounds like a plan to me.

We can discuss a date for the pres evening while we're in Torquay eh? Get everyone together and see when people are free. No real reason why it has to be a Saturday night rather than a Friday, other than maybe timing for people to get back from work and, if we do what everyone seems to be thinking, get to Reading.

We'll see. But arse and cleavage shots are now on the agenda. I'll make sure Smurf gets a wax.
Ha ha! I'm only good with a camera for the first hour or so, after that it's cleavage and arse shots all the way....

....so I guess I'm on camera duty all night.
You have to be there Matty - Smurf has already chosen his Manager's Player and we need you there. You have to be there. Otherwise we have to think of someone else to take photos of the winner.
The league table looks pretty impressive, 10 points clear of second, it reflects all the hard work everyone has put into the season and now we can have a few weeks rest knowing we've deserved it. It's certainly something to be proud of. Well I am!

AFC Wimbeldon have done bloody well to sign Marcus Gayle! That's actually quite impressive, although people are just going to kick him to say they have.... But I bet he kicks them a lot bloody harder!

I'm going to struggle for a date in July, I'm free every Friday but, assuming we'll be doing it on a Saturday night, I can't do the 30th June, 7th, 14th or 21st July, the only one I could probably get out of is the 30th June...

The 21st July is my birthday, so some of us will most likely be racing. Although we could all come afterwards which isn't a problem. Then we could all celebrate my birthday together!

Obviously we can't please everyone with a date, so it might mean I have to miss out which is fair enough.

I wish you'd hurry up and get past MK Dons, I've been waiting to laugh for years...
Marcus Gayle has signed for AFC Wimbledon. That's bloody amazing. He's ex-Wimbledon, ex-Premiership & SPL, ex-brilliant header to knock Man U out of the FA Cup scorer, can play up front or centre-back, top notch footy player.

Bring on Chelmsford.

Final league table of the season above. Bit of a mess in the end from everyone else's point of view, with some of the "better" teams finishing in surprisingly low places. Does show that we won it because a) we were the best team by quite some way and b) we were the most consistent of the bunch (reason b can account for how Q Ass got 2nd place without being anything special).

Sorry about no training for a few weeks lads, but it might be nice to have a break from each other for a few weeks and then getting back together in Torquay to catch up and recharge the batteries. In the meantime I can get together with Smurfy and we can get a presentation night sorted. Probably early July, unless anyone's away then?

Still, lovely use of font colour.
Started off.
Goal: Gareth,
LB: Lewis,
CB Matt & Ad
RB: Ben
LM: Ghengis
CM JT & Macca
RM: Andy
CF: Browny & Chris.
SUB: Screw
I can't remember how the goals went in exactly. I think... 1-0 us, 1-1, 2-1 us, 2-2, 3-2 (Miller with all three), 4-2 Browny.
Half Time was a bit of a shambles! Who ever pulled out Sub didn't own up and pulled out another ticket meaning there weren't enough to go round! So I went sub and regretted it big time when the heavens opened!!!
Goal: Browny,
LB: Ad,
CB Ghengis & Andy
RB: Macca,
LM: Lewis,
CM: Gareth & Ben
RM: Screw,
CF: JT and Chris
SUB: Matt
After about 5 minutes they scored with Browny hugging the post trying to get out of the way of the shot! So he was soon swapped with Macca in goal.
Then Gareth scored, Ad scored, they scored and Ben scored.
Wasn't a very good game, almost as bad as this write up in fact!! None of the goals were particularly great. In fact the best was probably their last goal.
I'm sure someone can do a better report than this, as my memory isn't too great!!
Someone give me a run down of the game on Sunday then. Table looks superb, 10 points clear of 2nd place and 16 points clear of 3rd and 4th. I knew those two wins over Bucklebury were good, strong results.

So I know that you won 7-4 and I know that Chris got a hat trick and Ad got his first, and only, goal of the season from left-back. But I don't know who went in goal and why the hell they let in 4 goals, or how the scoring went...

"What's this flat bit for?"

Thursday, May 10, 2007

Yeah I was gonna nip up the driving range tonight but I don't think I'll bother. My trouble is I think about it too much so I'll just try and play the first few holes in that "good init?" mode that you can get when you come back to something after a while away.

Looks like the days are following a pattern at the moment. If tomorrow is the same, it'll be nice and dry tomorrow while we're eating lunch, then start raining as we hit the 2nd tee, rain all the way through and then dry up as we have a post-match pint...

Lovely.
I think we're going to need our wet gear tomorrow!

I went up the range yesterday as I haven't played in about a year and I was bizarrely good! Very few duffers at all.

Which means I'll be shocking tomorrow.

Wednesday, May 09, 2007

Even if you had a camera there the change from "bizarre game" to "psychotic unprovoked attack" was too swift. It would have been more of a CCTV thing.

Cameras are best for other types of shot.

I'm the same, it makes me laugh every time I think about it!

If only someone took a camera!
It's a 1pm meet at The Starting Gate on Friday. It's probably a 20 minute drive to the course from there.

Ad - I'm more than happy to chip in (or pay fully) for a replacement garment for you given Sunday's events and my involvement. Let's just say it will be worth the money. In fact, I am laughing to myself right now just thinking of you smiling away with that Wiltshire accent oblivious to the danger you were facing, and the spotlighted cloud of moisture as you attempted to blow cranberry juice and white wine out of your nose.
