Tell me about it. That said, I've been working really hard on my fitness over the last few weeks and played 40 minutes straight of 5-a-side last night. Was still f*cked. What's the point?

You are at that age now Shane
One pint of Kingfisher and two pints of Stella last night and boy do I feel rough this morning. Somehow doesn't seem fair.

Nobody was going clubbing, it was only Dave who fancied going, but that seemed to be enough with everybody's inebriated reasoning for us all to end up in there. Met Crabbeman, then watched the usual scenario occur... then left shortly afterwards. This time I managed to make it out of the club without getting pummelled by the bouncers, so for me it was a good night.

"Pop it!"

Just practicing for Newquay.

Meanwhile, he was getting someone else to rob your house...

Got home fine thanks, it was a good night. I take it you all went into Liquid? So after Shane comment of 'I dont think anyone is going clubbing', everyone went clubbing!

So roll on Newquay...?!
Hope you got home safely mister Sills - I had a taxi driver straight out of Trainspotting, with full "ya ken?" all the way home. Found myself wondering whether to tip him a lot or not - couldn't decide whether it was best to tip him well so that he wouldn't burgle my house or whether if I tipped him well then he'd think I was loaded and therefore have expensive things in my house and come back and burgle it.

In the end just got him to drop me off outside someone else's house. Clever.

Check out www.chavtowns.co.uk , I'd recommend searches for Reading and Clacton!
Well Im a definite and I think Craig is as well. Crabbeman will be joining us after his date, and as such Im sure that Colin (big, bald) will do his usual trick of tagging along to everything we do, but I think if we dont get a taxi home they will stay at Daevs mums house, thats what they did last week. Browny cant make it.
Who's we?
I dont think we should do Man of the Match averages this season, it seems that we didnt bother when we lost so its not really fair. And i'll come bottom.

Saturday sounds good, Im working during the day so will probably try to get to Newbury for half seven/eight. We will either get the last train home, or get a taxi, or if there are any offers for places to stay we might have a look at those as well...

Hello matthew how are you ? Long time no Blog
Club Man.
Man of the match averages.
And what other trophies do we have?

1. Players Player
2. Managers Player
3. Most Improved Player
4. Goal of the Season
5. Top goalscorer
6. Supporters Player

I'm sure I usually buy more trophies than that...
Anybody got any other nominations for goal of the season?

I;ve got Beeny against the Post Office, Dave Lewis against MDM and Dave Lewis against Bell Grove FC.

Anyone else remember any other quality goals? I heard Hilly scored one but wasn't there so don't know what happened.

An email has gone round to some of you (those who's email addresses I had quickly to hand) stating the same as below...

Mikey has decided not to put his name forward for next season’s management post. I know he’s been thinking things through for a while now and he’s come to the decision that it’s better for him to return to getting the enjoyment out of playing football rather than managing a club.

As we all know, it’s been a bumpy season – from the very start. Bumpy seasons are difficult to manage and require a lot of time and effort to keep things going. Mikey has a young family and a new baby to look after alongside us lot and he feels that all of this together was detracting from the enjoyment he was getting from playing on Sundays.

It’s not an easy job to manage a team on the pitch, and with all the nappy changing and dummy throwing, managing things in the dressing room hasn’t been much easier J. Basically, Mikey wants to get back to enjoying his footy and for that reason has decided not to put his name on the list.

Personally, I need to thank Genghis for stepping into the gap, as I was concerned that the club would stumble on til the end of the season but then break up if I stayed ‘in charge but awol’ – but under him we’ve managed to maintain our position in the league and are looking in better condition for next season than we were doing half way through this season.

If you add into that Smurf’s broken leg, the subsequent goalkeeping nightmares and certain heat of the moment reactions (which happen in every club everywhere between players and managers – everybody wants the best for themselves, it’s only natural) then you can see Mikey has actually coped with a hell of a lot packed into half a season. What’s more, he’s done it with his head held high, no matter what’s been thrown at him.

Given that and all the effort he’s ever put in right from day one, in training through to helping me and other managers out in the past with every aspect of running the club, from taking training to sorting out invoices, friendlies, managing the team in some difficult games both successfully and unsuccessfully, then taking over with little or no notice, he’s Shefford through and through and I don’t think anybody would argue that point.

So I’m glad we didn’t all give him such a rough ride that he decided to jack it all in completely – but I think we’ve seen in the past few months that he’s made of stronger stuff than that by far. I have no doubt that if the club needs him again, he will stand up and be counted again. Tremendous demonstration of dignity from he who was christened Michael but is known as Genghis.

The result of Mikey’s decision is that currently there is just one name on the potential manager’s list, Smurf. We will still need to have a vote, as if more than 50% of the squad don’t want to play under Smurf then there’s no point in continuing as it will be a nightmare season for everyone involved. I will certainly be voting yes.

So people can either email or text me (not you Smurf, but I’ll count Ashley as a “yes” already eh?) to let me know. Smurf obviously has considerable experience of Sunday and Saturday football, is aware of you lot, your strengths and weaknesses and weaknesses, and has been involved in clubs to enough of a degree in the past to understand what running one involves. As far as I understand it, and I might be wrong, he’s not going to be able to do Thursday night training, but some of you have already obviously considered this and one idea is to rotate the coach role each week.

Mikey wanted to get this decision out of the way prior to any end of season drinks, prior to Newquay and prior to the presentation evening so that nothing was hanging over anybody and nobody needed to have any hidden agendas, so that’s why you’re being told this now. As it is now, Mikey and I, as this season’s managers, will preside over the presentation evening – which may or may not involve handing over to the new boss…

Can not make saturday due to a prior engagement.
Shane how do you want me to sort you out with money for Newquay?
Very Possible, Im meant to be going out in Reading with some work people but I'm looking for a reason not to go, and this could be my reason! Spread the word via the medium of text, that will get people interested...
Saturday night any good for anyone for an impromptu night out?
Really enjoyed that friendly yesterday, it was played in good spirit and for the thrown-together team that we put out (two of their players had to play for us and somebody who'd only come along to watch so he could have a beer after as well,k and Stevie Tab) we managed to put 4 goals past a Premier team's defence. And Stevie Tab notched one of those, almost got 2.

Couple of their goals were well offside (we had no linesmen) and a couple of howlers in the defence cos it was a friendly and unfamiliar players and stuff, but 8-4 final score wasn't too bad at all. If they come down we will need to be good but shouldn't over-fear them.

As for me, I got 90 minutes in centre mid due to the players we had available. I certainly played as an attacking midfielder but did track back when really needed. I ache all over today but I never felt like I couldn't carry on during the game, so the fitness must be working.

And for those who are interested, Beeny and I linked up beautifully for our third goal, though it was left for Stevie T to finish. And I got a good look at the guy from the Post Office team who's keen to sign for us next season - good striker, makes good strong runs and wants the ball, isn't afraid to shoot and, more importantly, can get the ball in the net. I think with him and Dave Lewis up front most defences won't enjoy playing against us.

I wasn't referring to you Mr Bellamy, I was referring to my friend Mr Bellemy on the telly, who had just taken strong action against, erm, some people.

But, er, good strong decisive action from yourself there Mr Bellamy. Good job.
What is the process with it then Mr Bellamy
BellAmy. Knobber.
Strong decisive action from Mr Bellemy there, good work sir.
Right, the plan is to have the manager vote sorted before Newquay - I don't want stuff hanging over people during that - it's not fair on anyone - so anyone else who wants to put their name forward had better do so asap, as I will be starting to arrange things this weekend.

Looks good, interesting to see that the first major thing they say is that there are qualified lifeguards. Predicting failure...

Good news from Smurfy, good to see people want the job of managing us lot. A thankless task!
So Smurfy's up for the role then. Good stuff - I'll hopefully have an update for people on Sunday. So anyone else interested, let me know before then.
http://newquay.com/fun-guide/index.html?search=surfing&display=Escape-Surf-School&filter=newquay

Check it out - we're now booked in with these guys for a 10.30am surfing lesson (2.5 hours!!!) on the Saturday. £20 all in, I'm just about to pay half of that as a deposit.

So, can everyone coming on Sunday bring £25 with them to cover the deposit for the accommodation and the surfing please? Except Crabbeman (ha ha) who needs to bring £41 with him to cover the accommodation, the surfing and his violent tendencies.
Thought i would go public and announce that i am very interested in the job.
Probably because veryone is ignoring you, erm, whats your name again?

Not sure if Stronach has a lift yet, so someone may get 6 hours of round the world travel talk...
Just checking with Crossy mate, last I heard he was happy to have the space, but will confirm later today for you.

I'm turning up on Sunday, better than lying around feeling hungover. Plus I've been doing a load of fitness stuff recently so I want to find out whether it's worth it or not...

The season we won the league, we conceded less goals than most clubs in the NSDFL and we did it because a) we had the motivation to after a good start to the season and b) the defence got into the habit of squeezing out after every attack had broken down. We kind of carried it on last season (hence why Partick gave us such a shock mauling cos they exploited the space that was left in behind) but yes this season just gone we sat back and got a bit lazy (not blaming the defence, the whole team just had a rest this season and one of the symptoms of that is defending too deep). For my part I just couldn't find the energy to sort it out, when it's quite simple really, which is one of the reasons I realised that I was probably not the best candidate for manager anymore and maybe my time had passed.

But yes I agree, a fit and disciplined defence is the backbone of any decent team. It has a physical effect on the opposition attackers cos it knackers them out having to track back after they've just bust a gut trying to score, and it has a psychological effect on them too because they can see straight away that they're up against an organised defence, so their expectations or scoring are lowered, attitude and effort lowers as a result, thereby making it easier on the defence, and a vicious circle ensues to the point where the attacker is left holding on to the will to live by a thread, crying and quivering on the penalty spot, blatantly offside. Hope that's explained the importance of it.

Anyone who is coming on Sunday and is coming to Newquay, can you bring your £15 deposit with you, that would be cosmic. Can someone let Crabbeman know that on top of that he owes me another £16 for his two bookings late in the season, which I've paid for him at the moment.

As for Neil, yeah I got wind of him not playing anymore. Like I said, shame for anyone to leave and especially as he's spent quite some time with us, but we can only move forward and we've easily got a good enough squad to not feel too much of a negative effect.

That said, does anyone know whether the striker from the PO is set to sign for us? And is Rob definitely coming back to play? He was a good player and had good attitude, so he'd be a strong re-addition...
I'm Travelling up on friday as of the moment I have an empty car!

Tuesday, April 12, 2005

Shane i did not know Crossy was coming, Class.
Who is actually travelling up friday morning to Newquay?

Mr Sills i did not ignore previous blogs..........
A lot of activity been going on in here since I last wrote anything.

Genghis if you could let us know ASAP whether we have got a game then will know whether I can get hammered after going up to cardiff on Saturday with Silsy and Crabbeman, and not have to get up early on Sunday Morning.

Just like to echo John's thoughts we have got a really strong squad for next season, with competition in nearly every position and with Rob coming back from his tour of Australia, then that can only give us more strength up front.

Would be gutted if Neil didn't want to sign on as he has been a big part of Shefford ever since he joined, but at the end of the day it is his decision.

Bring on Newquay, can't wait should be a great laugh. Shane can you let me know if Crossy wants a lift up there?
Well apparantly Crabbeman just spoke to Lewis and hardly anyone is turning up!

Managed to get the Seminfinal tickets on general sale, £45, bargain....!

Seriously, I think we should defend higher. The two best team we played this season were Partick and Vodafone, and they both push up right to the halfway line, meaning the midfield can join the attack more effectively, rather than having to cover a big gap between our 18 yard line and their 18 yard line. If I was manager...
Typical you Would say defend higher up the pitch!!

Lucky bastard going to the semi final I think we have a full squad sunday with you so you should really turn up yhink it would be rude if you didn't you can take the piss about going to cardiff!

You'll be right at home there student central so i've heard!
Notice how Smurf decided to ignore all the management talk previous to his Blog?!

I might be playing mate, Ive told Mikey that I should be ok to come, but Ive got a mate staying with me that weekend, and we are off to Cardiff for the Cup Semi, followed by a large piss up, so I dont want to make my mate get up early and drag him to watch us play miles away in Newbury, if noone else is gonna turn up!

You're right about next season, we have a great squad and strength in every position to make a real challange. Just need to get the team spirit right again, and play to our strengths. Oh, and I think we should defend higher up the pitch.
Oh ha bloody ha! Quite the comidien arn't we today!
Morning chaps how are we all?
Has anyone heard from,or seen anything of Beenie lately ?
Whoever takes over next season will inherit a good team, with a positive attitude for next season, also with rob coming back and andy millar signing from post office the squad will be a good size, i think genghis is working on neil as i don't think he wants to play sundays any more, but on the whole with this season out of the way we can look forward to playing the football we are used to playing!

are you playing sunday?
Well I dont know if he has put his name forward, just an expected rumour! Its still early on though, Im sure there will be coalitions and other people wanting it. Im sure Michael Howard will give it a go to improve his chances of winning something this year.
Jesus Its got a bit self indulgent in here since matty left no one to take the piss out of john sills he can just throw around slurs like he has a right foot! gor blimey! I do keep forgetting where your from john ,must remember my place, Sorry sir mayor of essex!!

Is smurf the only name being put forward for manager? As well as genghis!
I never had a problem with the Murder run, I built my reputation on that!

Names coming forward, well the main rumours focus on Smurfy, although he wouldnt be able to make training, and I think Lewis was considering it. Not too sure really. I dont think any of the Reading lot are interested in running the show, but like I say, I think there may be scope for a few experienced players to do the training side.
Yeah fair points - the "miss a game" rule was something I put in when the squad got to be of a certain size, it was the only way to be fair and yes sometimes it did mean I started a tough game with a different team than the one I would probably have preferred to choose - but it worked cos I stuck to it religiously, so although people would sometimes think that it wasn't the best idea, considering we had a scratch team out on the pitch and three strong players on the bench, at least everyone knew why that was the case.

Most people have a holiday, or an illness, or a family commitment, so everyone gets a turn at missing a match - and while that system was in force, we won the league, so it can be made to work, it's just sometimes it does feel as though you're cutting your nose off to spite your face. In my mind though, the alternative was worse for many reasons, which is why I stuck to it. I just couldn't justify doing it any other way.

But that was my way of doing things, I'm more than happy for whoever is manager next season to introduce their own 'rules' and 'thresholds'. All I did was took all the bits I've liked about my past managers from school footy up to my Sunday footy in Manchester and put them all together, then got the hang of it and put in a few things of my own. The best thing I introduced ever was the murder run. Made an instant difference to the whole squad. So people can take the bits they liked about how did it, drop the rest and pull in bits they like from their own experience.

What's the word on the streets for names coming forward anyway?
Lots of good points well made. I've spread the word to a few people via the medium of email. I think there are a few things that need to be sorted out, like Training. We all need to agree what kind opf format training will take so that, generally, people will know what to expect when they turn up on Thursdays. That way people wont moan if we dont play a game straight away because they will know that we are doing some training first. Depending who gets voted in as manager, maybe get a few people to take it in turns to run training, that way it will keep it fresh and not put too much pressure on one person to come up with ideas.

I also think we need to clarify the 'rule' on if you miss a game, whether it be we also pick our strongest team, or if you miss a match you start the next one on the bench but after that you can go back in the first team, or whether it be if you miss a match, you're out until someone else misses a match! But I guess that will be up to whoever is manager next season.

Ive heard Sir Bobby Robson is available. As is Steve Tab.
I havent seen Beeny on here in ages, but then again, I didnt see him turn up for the last few games of the season either. Could have done with him against Westwood, we really needed a left back rather than playing a back three.

Stevie Tab isnt coming you say? Ive been preparing my interview anser techniches for months! What a waste.

Yes, so onto Management...so what happens now? All very exciting. Are we going to see general election style canvassing and manifesto's? I'd like that.
Ok, management.

Obviously I totally dropped Genghis in it half way through the season, and I hope that everybody realises what a good job he did of picking it up and running with it, given that he only had a couple of days notice before you guys knew about it - so it was as much of a surprise to him as to anyone. He kept the admin and organisational side spot on (probably improved) so there was not one single fuck up in terms of who goes where, what time, who against, etc.

He was then hit by some devastating bad luck, losing Smurf to a broken leg and then losing Danny to the same thing, then getting a good goalkeeper who turned out to be unreliable before finally getting Ashley who is a good goalkeeper and reliable. But all that took time, and in that time results took a few whacks, dotted in between by some bloody good results against Partick, Kennet and Chav Friend to name a few.

It has been an inconsistent season, but it had been an inconsistent start even before Genghis took over. When I left we were in 3rd place in the league (but I couldn't really work out how) so in just over half a season, we dropped one or two places, having lost our keeper and taken some time to replace him - all in all, not a bad effort from everyone. I don't think it would have taken a few changes of luck and a little bit more effort for us to be right up there challenging for the top spot, but then we've just come off the back of two hard-fought seasons and I don't think we should punish ourselves for taking our foot off the gas for a bit, especially considering when we did that, we still fared okay in the league.

But, all said and done, the agreement when I left was that in the close-season we would vote for the manager for next season. Typically that's been the way it's always been done, and I should know because I've been in a partnership bid which lost that vote once, but then was lucky enough to see the guy who won walk away in a strop just before Christmas (without me engineering it either), leaving the role vacant - after that it's been mostly you guys and Mikey agreeing that there hasn't been a need to vote, which has been very complimentary so thank you.

I'm not going to skew this or put any spin on this at all, because the important thing is that it's a proper democratic decision. That way if you don't agree with the outcome, you can at least respect the fact that there were more people who voted for the situation than voted against it. All of know the other options available to us at any time - but it's always a shame to see players leave for any reason. But I do want to say one thing, and let's not beat about the bush, obviously it's clear that some players haven't been 100% happy with Genghis as boss - I think partly because it was thrust upon people (my fault) and partly because humans tend to dislike change, so changes in training, in match preparation, in squad selection, etc, will always cause friction. Even if you choose not to vote for him this summer, please understand that he has (as always) given 110%. If you think about the fact that he's got a young family and a pack of wolves to deal with, I think managing a team for over half a season without seeing it plummet is quite an achievement.

So at some point we will have a vote to determine next season's manager. Genghis is obviously one of the options open to us, and at the moment I know that a couple of people have been considering putting their name forward, plus I've heard rumours of external entries too. (Browny was talking about shoving Crabbeman in a few weeks ago, though I could have been mistaken as to what he was talking about. Something about "it's a bit of a stretch but once he's in he gives it all he's got" and that the end result was that he "was full of spunk.")

So there you have it, a voting sheet of one. Anyone who wants to put their name forward can contact me, anyone who wants to have a chat about what it actually involves to be manager, can contact me or Genghis - I'm sure he won't mind talking to people about it because even if he gets in again it's nice to know that we have people in the squad who might be future managers...

Spread the word.
Anyone know what's happened to Beany? Hasn't been on here for a while.

John when you say "in the back next to the dog hair and the tools..." Browny's going in his own car and Stevie T isn't coming this year. I'm confused.

Presentation evening we don't know about yet - we need to have an end of season night out sometime soon - how about next Friday or Saturday (22nd or 23rd)? We should do it soon cos otherwise it'll be too close to Newquay and we'll be getting too late to sort out voting and trophies for the presentation evening.

Which, in turn, brings me on to more serious matters - management. Subsequent blog required for this I think...

Its certainly the blog you have written that makes the most sense Smurfy! Me and Crabbeman are both booked in with Genghis as well, but there will be no pre-shotgun malarky. Either we take it in turns nicely, or we race for it, because I'll win that. Actually, 7 hours next to Mikey....you can have it Smurfy. Ill get in the back with the dog hair and tools.
Forget the Sharks I think with the amount of beer we are gonna be taking on board most of us will look like Beached whales!! Except for you shane i expect you to be Riding the tube of the wave.........hmmm I'm sure that was meant for Neil any how enough of the Gay jokes!
Dont worry about them sharks chaps they will be more worried about me biting them.
Bring on Newquay im so excited i could crush a grape.
Ghengis am i booked shotgun in the Ghenginator mobile? And if so who is coming onboard with us?
Why has Neil bottled it?

I am thinking of signing on next season but only as an emergency emergency emergency cover and if any one tells my Mrs that, they will need an emergency ambulance.

When is presentation evening?

Think that is the longest blog i have ever written.

P.S Shane i love you
"Sea-water alcohol levels off Britain's South coast have risen above legal safety thresholds" a spokesman said...
I know, reason I said it was that I thought maybe we should warn the local fisherman that they probably wont catch anything that weekend due to all the fish being scared off.
Basking sharks mate - nothing that'll do you any harm. You're better off worrying about Smurf.
Nicely done, like I say, if your happy to text me your a/c number I'll pay it straight into your account. I think Crabbeman is going to pay Stronachs money, I had an email from the Robster yesterday and he is definitly coming.

Surfing sounds cracking, I can see myself standing on the board and floating a long, long way out to see.

There have been shark sightings in Newquay, you know...
Right, I have decided to bite the bullet and pay everybody's deposit for Newquay, otherwise it just wasn't gonna happen.

Not moaning about it, it was as much hassle for me to get the money off everyone as it was for everyone to get the money to me - so it's my decision to go ahead and pay the deposits, so it's cool.

So far, only one person from the list has told me they're not coming, that's Neil. Which leaves 16 of us, and at £15 a person that's £240 I'm sending off today.

So, you'll appreciate I'd like that money back without having to do too much chasing. I know everyone is pretty good with that sort of thing otherwise I wouldn't be doing it. Can somebody kindly stump up for Stronach's £15 and then get the money off him if that's ok?

So now it really is on, and I can go ahead and book up surfing lessons - I take it no one's bottling that are they? Even Smurf's having a go and he's got a broken leg...
A ha ha ha haaa...

Monday morning, good to laugh.

Firstly, A note to mr. sills Blog Tuesday April 5th 2005, My Idea of the last game of the season as i was told was a mess around as it didn't make much difference weather we lost or won!
Secondly, I was also told we would all be playing out of position to make it more interesting as it was mess around!
Thirdly, with genghis at right back me at left back ashly in goal crabman in the center of midfield you on the left wing andam in the center of midfield and paul curtis on the right wing pretty much was the normal shefford sunday team,
Forthly, My stinking hangover Did not allow me to run anywhere it only allowed me to keep watching the ball and doing the odd one "shite" touch into touch!!

Anyhow its been an up a down season on the whole and for me i'm looking forward already to the new season with high hopes!

Bring on newquay!!!

Friday, April 08, 2005

Dunno about times and stuff yet, but plenty of stuff to do in Newquay if you have to wait until you can check in. Wouldn't have thought they'd have people staying Thursday and not Friday so i'd guess anytime...
Its not quite as fluent on ehre as it used to be is it?! Where have Matty and Paul disappeared to? Dont try to tell me they actually work now...

Tuesday, April 05, 2005

Quality mate, should be a good crack.

Likewise if you give us your Account number and sort code then ill transfer it over.

As for driving im gona take a half day that day, will be leaving at around half 1. So if anyone wants a lift let me know?
Good work there Shaner. Ive got the day off on the Friday so I might walk down to Newquay. What time is everyone thinking of driving down? Is there an early crew? Ive just found out I start my new job role on the monday after the tour, so Im sure I'll make a good first hungover impression!

If you text me your account number and sort code, I'll transfer the money straight into your account (3 working days if your non HSBC...).

Sorry it wasnt more entertaining on sunday, I found Beanie's attmepts to play football pretty amusing for the first 20 mins of the second half. Got annoying after that.
Booked.

£15 deposit each, another £15 to be paid on arrival.

As there are 17 of us, I can't afford to pay the deposit up front, and with no games and no training, it's up to you lot to get the money to me. What do you think to a few beers Thursday or Friday?
Yeah I've had the same thing where I've typed out a humorous little post but then it freezes up and either doesn't post it or posts it twice.

Not much to say about Sunday really, other than it could have been more entertaining for those of us on the sidelines. Funny old season really, we've not produced anything like the quality we have for the last two seasons, we've been completely inconsistent and when we've been bad we've ben very bad, but then we've had some great results as well - Kennet, who we beat in the Bowness Cup (and deserved to) have reached the final of the Lambourn Cup (the Prem Div cup competition) and the semis of the Benevolent Cup (although that might mean that they won one game).

But it's all good experience. Bit of a shame, because I think the quality of Div One this season was sufficient for us to have won it if we'd got a bit of momentum behind us at the beginning of the season - I don't think Partick or Vodafone are that much better than us at all.

There you go, 4th, 5th or 6th place probable finish isn't actually that bad, and Kennet were in 4th place when they got hoisted up to the Prem division so lets hope that doesn't happen this season...

As for Newquay - just sorting out arrangements and finding out how much deposit they actually want. I've got a list of 17 names as follows:-

John Sills
Smurf
Browny
Beeny
Crabbeman
Peter Kay (aha ha ha...)
Dave Lewis
Matt
Adam
Jamie
Paul
Neil
Rob Stronach
Ashley
Shane
Genghis
Tony
Crossy

So that is what I'm intending to book. If anyone drops out then you will lose your deposit (whatever that is) - as these guys don't seem as flexible as the lot at the Gynway. If anyone else wants to come then fine but I can't guarantee you'll be in the same accommodation as us, might have to find a room yourself.

As for travel, I imagine the train journey will be expensive, but will avoid the traffic/country lanes - the main problem we seem to be finding with the trains is that there are no fucking trains. For example, if I leave Southampton at 2.10pm on the Friday afternoon, I can get to Newquay station for 10am Saturday morning. Useful? I think not. I should give up on the train idea if I were you and sort out cars.

I know there was talk about renting a minibus, but let's face it, who's gonna rent it, who's gonna drive it and who's gonna be happy in the back with Genghis driving? Exactly.

Sorry I can't offer anyone a lift but I'm driving from Southampton and then going back to Torquay on the way back.

As soon as I've confirmed the room booking I'll get us booked up for some surfing lessons on the Saturday. Browny, if you don't behave on Friday night again then you won't be able to come surfing ok?

It has been a bit quiet on here recently, Ive been trying to post stuff but it hasnt been letting me. I thought we were planning cars down to Newquay? I think trains are a good idea, then everyone can drink, but cost wise its probably cheaper to drive.

Last game of the season tomorrow, been a weird season thats for sure. I think we need to regroup over the summer, make some decisions about things and start fresh next year, and try to get promoted! We've got the quality.
